Haimurubushi started operations in 1979 on Kohamajima in the Yaeyama Islands, surrounded by the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere, about 400 km south of the main island of Okinawa.
Each of the 23 islands in the Yaeyama chain is a paradise of subtropical flora, with its own unique island culture. These charms led to the islands’ designation as Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park.
