Corporate Profile
Haimurubushi started operations in 1979 on Kohamajima in the Yaeyama Islands. It lies about 400 km south of the main island of Okinawa, surrounded by the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere. Each of the 23 islands in the Yaeyama chain is a paradise of subtropical flora, with its own unique island culture. These charms led to the islands’ designation as Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park. Haimurubushi is the word in the Yaeyama dialect of Japanese for the Southern Cross, a constellation seen in the southern sky. Since its opening, guests have flocked to Haimurubushi to marvel at the beauty of the Yaeyama Islands and enjoy marine activities to their hearts’ content.
With guestrooms that ooze comfort, elegant restaurants, and a full palette of activities, Haimurubushi offers the captivating resort experience one expects from a member of the Mitsui Fudosan Group. The Hotel’s careful consideration for the region’s culture and natural environment make it a vital contributor to the regional community.
